Full Truckload (FTL)

Full truckload refers to a load that occupies an entire truck’s capacity. It is ideal for large shipments that require a dedicated vehicle for transport.
Common Loads: Industrial goods, large quantities of raw materials, construction materials (cement, steel), machinery, and consumer goods.
Truck Types: Typically transported using MDT/HDT Trucks, Trailers, Containers/Bulkers.

Less Than Truckload (LTL)

LTL loads involve smaller shipments that do not fill an entire truck. These loads are consolidated with other smaller shipments, making it a cost-effective option for businesses with smaller quantities of goods.
Common Loads: Consumer products, electronic goods, food items, packaged goods, and furniture.
Truck Types: Box trucks, tail-lift trucks, or standard cargo trucks are commonly used for LTL loads.

Heavy Cargo / Over Dimensional Cargo

This type of cargo involves items that are too large or too heavy to be transported by standard trucks. Special permits are often required for transporting these goods.
Common Loads: Large machinery, transformers, industrial equipment, steel structures, and wind turbine blades.
Truck Types: Low-bed trailers, Semi/flatbed and specialized multi-axle trailers are used for transporting heavy and oversized cargo.

Bulk Cargo

Bulk cargo is typically transported in large quantities, often in a loose form. This type of load is not packaged and is often measured in weight or volume.
Common Loads: Coal, grain, fertilizers, sand, and agricultural products.
Truck Types: Tippers, bulker trucks, and container trucks are most commonly used for bulk cargo.

Temperature-Controlled Cargo

Temperature-sensitive goods require special handling and transportation in vehicles that can regulate the temperature. This ensures that goods remain fresh or in the right condition throughout transit.
Common Loads: Perishable food items, pharmaceuticals, flowers, and certain chemicals.
Truck Types: Refrigerated trucks (reefer trucks) or cold chain trucks are used for transporting temperature-sensitive cargo.

Liquid Cargo

Liquid cargo includes liquids that need to be transported in large quantities. These goods may require special handling and storage to avoid spillage or contamination.
Common Loads: Chemicals, oils, milk, water, and petroleum products.
Truck Types: Tankers or liquid bulk carriers are typically used for transporting liquid cargo.

Hazardous Cargo

Hazardous goods require extra care during transportation due to their dangerous or volatile nature. Special permits and precautions must be taken when handling these types of loads.
Common Loads: Chemicals, gases, explosives, paints, and other dangerous goods.
Truck Types: Hazmat trucks and tanker trucks equipped with special safety features to handle hazardous cargo safely.

Automobiles

Automobiles are often transported over long distances from manufacturing plants or ports to dealerships or other locations.
Common Loads: Cars, bikes, trucks, and other vehicles.
Truck Types: Car carriers (multi-level vehicle transporters) and open-bed trucks are used to transport vehicles.
